CAIRO IS OPEN SOURCE!!!

Don’t trust, verify! It’s the ethos that has launched a revolution and this is the first step towards StarkWare’s journey to open source the StarkNet stack.

Cairo 1.0 transitions the provable programming language from python-based to rust-based and includes many performance and ergonomic improvements.

One of the many benefits of OS is we can now leverage our talented community of gigabrains. Rockstar @xJonathanLEI submitted the first community PR merged to the codebase!

As Developer Advocate David Barreto (@barretodavid) aptly puts it:

We have been working very hard in PARALLEL with the community on speeding things up. One of the benefits to the “shut up and build” mentality and parallel development tracks is that improvements start to stack on one another and we get big gains “all of a sudden”.
