All roads lead to Giza, Starknet Roadmap and Cairo Book
Better performance and user experience (UX) on Starknet? Coming soon!
Q: Why did the mummy go to the doctor at Giza?
A: Because he was coffin so much!
Q: What is common between Egypt and Starknet?
A: Cairo, Nile, Giza….and perhaps another cool upcoming project named Sphinx? ;)
By now, we are sure you might have got a teeny-tiny hint that we will cover the project Giza in this newsletter edition. We will also be covering some other exciting things like the recently announced Starknet roadmap, the newly launched Cairo book, and Starknet events happening across the globe!
Let’s go!
Starknet Goals and Roadmap for 2023
Thanks to our amazing community members, especially the Builders Council, who provided invaluable insight and feedback in defining this roadmap for Starknet. This roadmap is an effort to establish transparency between Starknet and our ecosystem.
TLDR;
Starknet will go through Regenesis this year. The event will be seamless as it will result in no downtime and no resetting of the network’s state.
Cairo 0 contracts will need to complete the transition to Cairo 1.0 as Cairo 0 will be shut down.
Fresh Cairo 1.0 contracts will require no action whatsoever — for them, Regenesis is a non-event.
Here is a brief look at the roadmap:
You can refer to the medium article here for detailed information about our goals and the roadmap.
All roads lead to Giza
Starknet community call #40 was an AMA with Giza Tech. Let’s briefly understand what they do.
Giza is a permissionless protocol in Starknet for deploying machine learning models on-chain, performing verifiable inferences, and enabling an open AI economy. Their mission is to provide an alternative path for the collective development of AI.
If you are exploring intersection paths for AI and Blockchain, projects like Giza Tech are worth looking at. Giza supports existing frameworks like Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face models and has built their technology on top of these, making it seamless for existing users to adopt.

Cairo Book is here!
Not to brag, but the Starknet community is truly one of the best. It’s a gift that keeps on giving! A few of our Cairo community members recently announced v0 of The Cairo Book - built by the community for the community.
This book was created by members of the Cairo community - @Fricoben, @trangnv_, @Th0rgal_, @IrisdeVillars, @Cheelax_, @wraitii, @shrameetweets, @rodro_pino, @zarboq, @eniwhere_ and is open for contributions!
As the tweet suggests, if you want to become a 10x Cairo dev, there is no better place to get started than this book. Explore the book here and give us your feedback.
